Big News re: Employer Shared Responsibility under PPACA

Have you heard?  Have you heard?  Within the final regulations issued on 2/9/12 regarding the Summary of Benefits Coverage (SBC) mandate was a Technical Release with some potentially golden nuggets for any employers with a large base of employees working full time (>30 hours/week) currently but are not medical plan benefit eligible - particularly seasonal or intermittent employees.  In the Technical Release (see http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/newsroom/tr12-01.html for details) it outlines what might ultimately be written into the regs for an employee who works full-time but isn't expected to on an annual basis.  If the employer can pass the safe-harbor test, no coverage will be required nor will the employer pay a penalty.  For many industries this is HUGE news...stay tuned!
